Presidential Campaign Ads by Class P

These presidential campaign videos were created by Class P at Flushing International High School. They represent the final project of a month-long unit on the 2008 presidential election developed and executed collaboratively by Humanities teacher Erin Dowding and Media Arts teacher Dillon Paul. For the project, students were assigned a candidate and a region of the United States, while they were responsible for choosing a relevant issue, writing a script, selecting images, video footage and music, and editing in Final Cut Pro. Please feel free to offer feedback on the students work by commenting below!

These campaign ads are successful in using persuasive languages to defend the position of the candidates. Students show effort in trying to search for different images and videos. We are clear about for who each campaign is for. But we need to work more on spelling check because there are spelling mistakes in the ads.

Most of the videos are pretty well done. Sound is well used and the same thing happen with the used of positive a negative language. I think the videos of this class most be showed in the TV.

besides my ad, i must say all of then were quite interesting to watch, and worth to rate it a 5/5, some of the ad's need to focus on the music along with the video/picture to capture the viewer or call his attention.

Wow, I found this website of campaign ads. All of them are very good, but wanted to comment on the attack ad by Jin Yong and Juan... that was very scary and effective. "People like YOU will be the victim of McCain!" But then the McCain GRRR poster was a light-hearted touch. So good job! GOBAMA!

Wow, the last attack ad by Christian and Enguang was also very effective... really showed how John McCain didn't have a plan and how his policies would benefit the wealthiest, while highlighting Obama's positions, as well. Nice work!

It was so powerful to see images of your school, the students, and your teachers along with the Obama ad. To see the halls and the faces made the educational issue feel very important. Have you showed these ads to your families?
